Sometimes we notice that jumping fitness is initially dismissed as a “fun sport” at events.

Of course, jumping fitness is fun and it is a high-intensity cardiovascular workout.

Now Jumping Fitness is even “more” a sport for everyone

Pure cardio training may not appeal directly to everyone.

People who are more interested in strength training rarely see the point of going on the trampoline and “jumping” for an hour.

At events, I always use well-known Tabata songs to inspire others who are not so convinced.

As you have a lot of freedom in organizing your jumping lesson, some trainers started to turn it into interval training relatively early on.

Here is the general definition of interval training:

Interval training

is a training method in sport that is characterized by alternating phases of exertion and recovery (

intervals
) is marked. Interval training involves working with time. The body needs specifically timed periods of stress and recovery.

I also remember how, after the first few hours, I saw more potential in interval training than actually “racing” through the hour for 50 to 60 minutes.

Personally, I’m a fan of interval training because I’m looking for the best way to burn fat and because pure cardio training simply gets too boring for me in the long run. Pure strength training too, by the way.

But back to optimal fat burning. A study by the University of Guelph (Canada) shows that you can achieve the highest possible fat burning with this method. Fat burning was 36% higher than with constant moderate endurance training.

The simplified explanation for this is that the carbohydrate stores of the muscles are used up more quickly during or in the high exertion phases and the body then increasingly draws on its fat stores as an energy supplier.

Time plays along

With Jumping Fitness, you are free to choose your own music as a trainer and as I always like to put together my own playlists, I can’t really say that I’m practicing the best interval training yet. As my exercise and rest phases are not perfectly timed.

To solve the time problem, we now use special CDs that are perfectly timed in our elaborate Jumping Fitness interval program.

In this way, all phases are set optimally and used effectively.

But of course we didn’t just work on the concept because of the timing. We also wanted to reach target groups who had not previously had much to do with the trampoline as training equipment.

This means that even those who really only want 30 minutes of hard bootcamp training on the trampoline now have a chance.

Our trainer Rene Rös took part in the workshop and describes his impressions.

Not only jumping here

I have been a Jumping Fitness Basic Instructor for over a year and am studying fitness economics in the dual system.

When I signed up for the Jumping Fitness Interval workshop, I had no idea what to expect. Other steps? Different course duration?

I soon realized that I was right about the duration of the course. A JF interval unit can be individually scheduled by the trainer and studio for a minimum of 15 minutes up to 60 minutes.

The lesson or unit is clearly structured in terms of time.

Whereby the pauses are always active in the JF interval! That means you are always on the move.

You can also customize your course. For example, I always have the option of taking turns. A basic section, as the participants know it, and then an interval section, then basic again and then interval again, etc. ( Interval method )

Or I could opt for Tabata. This means that I give full power for 20 seconds and then pause for 10 seconds. I then do this over a certain period of time. ( interval method / series method )

As a trainer, I can set certain priorities in any type of course I choose.

For example, arms, shoulders, back, legs. Each zone can be tackled.

As a trainer, I definitely see advantages in the increased calorie consumption. This means that I consume just as many calories in a shorter time as in a basic hour.

I also think it’s good that you can increase your muscle mass intensively if you visit regularly.

Personally, I think it’s really great that partner exercises are also possible here, so the participants can push each other and I think the motivation is much higher than in a basic course.

I can only say that I can recommend Jumping Fitness Interval to anyone who wants to reduce fat, build muscle and wants functional training with their own weight. Everything is supported by harmonious music, giving you the power that every trainer and participant wants.
