Wonder weapon ginger – nature’s aspirin

Hardly any other food is as versatile and healthy as ginger. The plant, which originates from Asia, owes its medicinal properties to a viscous balm consisting of essential oils and pungent substances. With these active ingredients, ginger helps with colds, stomach ache, sore muscles or the listlessness that so often overtakes us in the darker months of the year.

Natural painkiller

As a natural painkiller, ginger is just as helpful for menstrual pain as it is for sports. Regular consumption of ginger, either in food or as a tea, prevents muscle pain and soreness.

Strong immune system

Especially now in the cold season, many people are constantly struggling with colds. Ginger has been proven to strengthen the immune system and prepare the body to defend itself against disease. The reason for this is that ginger is particularly rich in antioxidants, which serve as the body’s natural defense against free radicals. Although necessary to a small extent, too many radicals promote the premature ageing and change process of the body’s cells.

Calm stomach

Ginger is not only a natural remedy for menstrual pain. Also for abdominal pain and even nausea, incl. Travel sickness, the tuber helps to relieve the symptoms quickly.

Osteoarthritis, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease

Due to its anti-inflammatory and immune-stimulating effect, ginger can also be used as a preventative measure against serious illnesses. When eaten regularly, the healthy tuber prevents the formation of cancer cells and can even destroy them. The plant also prevents the death of brain cells and reduces the symptoms and pain caused by arthritis.

Weight loss

If you want to lose a few kilos or boost your sluggish digestion, you should drink a cup of ginger tea before eating or add a piece of ginger to your meal. This not only stimulates the pancreas, but also fat burning, as the tuber ensures that body weight is not reduced by the breakdown of water. It is almost impossible to imagine a detox diet without it!

Our recipe idea for an extra portion of immune power
If you want to give your ginger tea a boost of natural defenses, mix the drink with freshly squeezed lemon juice. If this is too sour for you, simply add some healthy sweetener, such as honey. We recommend manuka honey, which has particularly health-promoting properties. However, it is essential to ensure the authenticity and quality of the honey. Even if it is slightly more expensive than other types of honey, it is well worth buying to stay healthy and fit through the cold season.
